Th Ranch in Kiowa, Colorado
It is always so peaceful and nice for us to be able to spend time at Ann & Bruces ranch in Kiowa, we had amny adventures there this summer. We wnet on walks with Ann & "the family" Booner, Tessie, & Sadie, sometimes Clarence would come with us but always stayed at a distance. You will see them in the pictures. Then there was the walk with the turkeys, when I was taking pictures of the hens the old tom got jealous and came after me, whew, I thought he was going to eat me for dinner...LOL
Ann & I went out one morning to take pictures of the widlflowers that were so abundant and beautiful there. We also got pictures of a curious horse, some alpaca's, and a mother deer with two new baby fawns. (see pictures) Then Ann took us up, up and away in her blue airplane, we flew over her ranch and looked at it from the sky, beautiful is a good word so is awesome, reall neat flight. we were very fortunate that after being delighted for a week Ann planned a very unique trip home to Utah and stayed here at her Sky Ranch home for a week. We traveled all down through the state of Colorado on the scenic byways, it was a wonderful trip and we enjoyed it immensely. We saw Colorado Springs in a rainy mist, it raineddown through the mountains then we came to a beautiful town of Pagosa Springs where we had lunch overlooking the hot springs and a beautiful castle. we saw people come out of the springs and go into the freezing river to cool off then back into the hot springs again. We then journyed down to Mesa Verde National Park to spend a few hours seeing how ancient Idians built their homes in arches in the mountainside, it looked like it would have been impossible to live there, but they did, probably spent their whole live living in those places.then on to the four corners area (see pic's) ann & dad were in four states at once. It was hot dry and windy there. Only the indians that had their lirrle shops set up wanted to stay there. Along the hiway we found an indian roadside stand selling pottery and Ann & I got us some really beautiful, authentic indian pottery. then on home to Hurricane. We had a really good time over the two weeks.
